Highlands Ranch Golf Club has recently become the University of Denver Golf Club. Most people aren’t aware of the official name change. The Highlands Ranch golf course (oops, University of Denver golf course…) was designed by Hale Irwin. It features great views of the Front Range and the foothills. I love the challenging tee shot on the par 3 17th hole. It’s located south of C-470 and west of I-25 in southern metro Denver just south of the intersection of C-470 and Lucent Blvd. Check out the University of Denver Golf Club website for more information.
There are hundreds of great single family homes and townhomes along the Highlands Ranch golf course! The city of Highlands Ranch is a master planned community of over 100,000 people. Started in 1981, Highlands Ranch is one of the nation’s most popular and successful master planned communities. Real estate developers from around the country have visited here to understand its success and to get ideas for their own new communities. In 2010 Business Week recognized Highlands Ranch as one of the best places in the country to raise a family.
What makes Highlands Ranch so special? Many reasons. Great schools, lots of convenient shopping and restaurants, and easy access to freeways to head to work or the mountains. Four rec centers offer a wide variety of fitness opportunities for children and adults. There are hundreds of acres of parks and open space, and miles of trails for walking or biking. And of course, golf! There are two golf courses within the Highlands Ranch community: University of Denver Golf Club and The Links at Highlands Ranch.
